Here Comes the Onslaught of Thanksgiving Wine Suggestions

For the next two and a half weeks, prepare for wine suggestions for your Thanksgiving meal from every major (and minor) wine writer in the country. Don't hate them, they have to fill space, its what they do.

"Pinot, Riesling, Beaujolais Noveau, Zinfandel, Sparkling (not Champagne, this is an American holiday!) maybe even a Grenache"

There, I've done it for you, now you can skip the 200 articles that will be published soon....

In your summary of all the "wine for Thanksgiving" articles, you say "...Sparkling (not Champagne, this is an American holiday!)"

but also "Beaujolais Noveau"

I suppose one could make the case that Beaujolais Nouveau is so marketing-driven that it's essentially an American wine, but it's still made in France and shipped over.

I'll never forget the first time I had BN. I was in Paris, just old enough to drink it but not old enough to know better. It went down so easy, I never thought it would come up so hard....

jeez... you're right. Everywhere I look, critics are publishing their "lessons to pairing wine with turkey" or "find the right wine your guests willlove you for"

oh, its painful!
